New, unconfirmed Google ranking update ‘Fred’ shakes the SEO world.
The SEO analysts, data analyst, along with some of the popular Google tracking tools, all show strong signs that there was a Google algorithm ranking update.
Google has not confirmed it yet but there are many who are affected almost around the same time which is around 6-7th March. Many site owners are coming forward on the popular SEO forums sharing their declined rankings around above mentioned date.
There was also a large content quality Google update on February 7 that was never confirmed. For some reason Google is not confirming the updates lately — but that won’t stop us from reporting large shifts in the search results that convey an algorithm update has happened.
First, this update does seem to be to be link quality related and not content quality related – but it is still very early to make such a judgement call. Second, Google has still not confirmed or denied the update. But Gary Illyes from Google did say they are constantly updating.
The websites that have low quality backlinks in the past and never tried to fix or never tried to up the link building game (achieving natural better quality links) lately may get affected.
Google is yet to officially comment on this update. We will keep WebsiteFix readers updated about this latest Google update on this blog page.
